Fair enough, I thought u were but just checking in general. Didn't u play a conq for a bit? Any pointers? Everything I've read says brute spec, and if I'm reading the feats right I could end up with what is essentially 3 bubbles and 2 cunning deflections...

| PM skywing for tips Brute/General is the best for undergeared toons. However, carnage is coming back due to a refreshing charge and AA "Break through" which has a chance to do a KB after every charge. You do have 2 bubbles in Brute, as well as retaliation - which is pretty sweet. Carnage bubble an evasion bubble which doesnt work so well as everything has hit rate on it. Whirlwind is nice if you can get it off, but its a 3 stepper. AoE though . | |

| I can only comment from a guardian pov. Get volcanic rage it is in the general tree. But honestly it may not be needed as a conq. Hell it may not be needed as a guard anymore. | |

| No, u have a point with VR, the other conq builds I've seen usually go for one bubble and have the protection, armor, cunning d, and VR from general. I honestly saw it as too many abilities to manage and left it and cunning D out. I still think for a pure pvp build cunning d can be sacrificed, but any idea where the point for VR would come from? Take it from protection? I consider dropping the damage flag, but relooking at it I could add the health regen to it and pop it with VR and have a double damage boost + healing moment... | |

| If you are going to get BoA, get remorseless aggression. Not entirely sure this is worth feating anymore. Early on, I would focus more on defense and less on frenzy mode.
Fierce opening and annihilate are worth looking at (carnage side) especially for open world pvp - minis, annihilate is so-so. Fierce opening is still good.
Power feint is worth speccing too. The new IFA can do great damage.
Lumbering hulk is a must for pve, but pvp is usually passed over. possibly dump the point in ruthless assault and move on. I would look at stone skin over iron skin as you will probably have very little protection early on.
Check throat slash tooltip in game, I think it might be altered and no longer worth fully feating for pvp. Definitely pick up the first point though - to learn the combo/interrupt.

| The forums still talked up throat slash, but I'll check the description in game. I also had read the carnage feats you mentioned were nice, and some people avoided LH. My thoughts were that the damage increase after fully feated, plus health regen, made it worth it for mini games. My real question (for you, and for testing) is are any of those other feats/abilities worth losing a bubble? | |

| The only other things I really love are too deep into carnage to get a good brute/general build going.(resolute advance and fleet of foot)
LH can be good in a big melee fight, but it makes it really easy to get kited. You will have to turn it off to catch anyone who decides to run.

| Subject: Another Tweak for Joe for performance. Tue Jun 07, 2011 2:37 pm | |
| http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=233835Post content below Some users that play on 64-bit Windows machines reported an issue which resulted in Windows using 75% or more of the physical memory when Age of Conan is started. Our technicians have looked into the problem and found out that it's a common problem in 64-bit Windows System when actively accessing large files. We now provide a tool to fix this issue. We are also working to get this fixed in the client so using a tool won't be necessary in the future but until then, users can fix the issue by using this tool. Please read along for some additional information and instructions on how to download and use the tool. Information: This tool tunes Windows file cache size in a way that makes it work more efficiently with large files. By default, Windows file cache is unlimited on 64-bit systems, that can make it grow infinitely and fill up all available physical RAM when actively accessing large files. By setting its upper limit, we ensure that the players always have physical memory available for AoC and other applications, without sacrificing performance. Here is a description of Windows cache algorithm and why it does make sense to tune it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976618There is also a MS tool that does the same thing: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=enInstructions: Download the ConanSystemTweaker.exe tool Unpack the tool from the ZIP file and save it on your PC (for example to 'C:\temp\') Press the Windows key + r to open the command line. In the command line type the following to activate the tool (using 'C:\temp\' as an example of where the tool was unpacked to in step 2) : Code: C:\temp\ConanSystemTweaker.exe --maxfilecachesize=200000000 If you wish to reverse the changes made by the tool at a later time, do the following: A) Press the Windows key + r to open the command line. B) In the command line type the following to activate the tool (using 'C:\temp\' as an example of where the tool was unpacked to in step 2) : Code: C:\temp\ConanSystemTweaker.exe --maxfilecachesize=0 | |

| I played the 12/12 mini game on my BS last night and loved it. Lots more going on and confusion while not overloading to the point of lag like in a raid. The 80 minis are popping pretty regularly, while I haven't seen a 39 pop once.
Gotta admit, I'm having a good time coming back. I'm sure the little things that ate it up for me before will come back, but having fun right now (despite how painfully terrible my play is). That may in all fairness, and it pains me to say it, be attributed to the randomized mini groups. I'm pretty much playing solo and still get games and decent groups. A few of u start playing with and I might change my tune, but right now it is working for me rather than against.

I'm personally still playing HoN and decided to finish Mass Effect 2 which I had stopped playing for some unknown reasons.

Well, you can obviously read my above post, but to add to it: 1) they're still planning on making the hardcore server and I'm going to roll a character there 2) loving the 'reaquainting' I'm doing with my BS. It and conq I've really enjoyed learning. 3) servers aren't over loaded and acolytes are LiFing the server with big recruitment farming, but isn't horrible in minis since no teaming. 4) overall, think I'm just happy to be playing something above a 5/10 for me

That's pretty much my point too. AoC is one of the MMO's I've played the most and had the most fun with, but some changes to it were made that I personally don't think were needed like amazing gear and AA. I know I could have some fun with it, but I'm not sure that paying for the couple of hours of fun left I could squeeze out of it would justify the price paid.

| Still gear dependent, but now its just a lot easier to get gear vs time invested. You get 15+ MoA per quest instead of 2.
Grinding to 4 is easier too, You get 20,000 faction point instead of 2000-4000, you just only do the quest once per day instead of all day long. Longer Cooldown

| Make no mistake, it's still gear and AA dependent. It is what it is. For me, what it is is better than what I've played the past 9 months.
Most people are wearing combo set ups of pvp and faction gear. The best boost I've found is that you can buy insignias and MoAs with veteran points. Don't know if u could do that before, but seemed easier and more attainable with the 290+ veteran points I had.

| Some good notes (IMO): -you can buy pvp 5 gear, including weapons, now for 'points.' Doesn't have critigation, but still significant for minis. -you can add or remove RP gear visuals, so you aren't stuck with all looking the same. This can also bite you in the ass as you can't tell anyone's true gear, and pvp level indicators can be turned off, so you could be attacking a fully outfitted player and not know it. -faction leveling became significantly easier, MoA for gear was reduced, and price was nearly cut in half -it seems the crazy amount of CCs has been reduced somewhat, and the crazy AA resistances lowered -trophies needed for pvp 8-10 gear have been added to minis and I THINK world pvp, so bori is no longer a necessity for pvp 10 gear. -there were a ton of new and returning players on -a random 80 NPC was terrorizing tortage killing all the new chars -sins' CCs were not touched, so they got a significant boost again (demo and guard seem to be the next two strongest; guard not so much for DPS but just can't bring em down; word on the street is high end DTs can two shot anyone) | |
