DCUO, and that's not a joke.
-fast paced -non-wow -can level up whatever type of character u want quickly -pvp gear doesn't make u broke -plenty of people to kill -good graphics -easy to get mini-games -you've already bought it(!) -power girl cleavage -you know how to win the games already
In all seriousness I don't understand the bitching for a new game. DCUO is not perfect, but I would easily put it as #2 to original AoC for what it overlaps to the aspects we always say we want. Bored with it, I get it, but don't act as if we don't have a sincerely viable option available.

its not a sincerely viable option if you are the only one that wants to play it.
bulletstorm releases on 2/22 homefront on 3/15 both are on xbox.
bulletstorm looks cool but i think homefront would have more staying power. I am not really advocating either just trying to put out some ideas.

Viability of an option has nothing to do with who plays it in our group. WoW is a viable option, less so than DCUO, and Simon is the only one that wants to play it. Doesn't make either non-viable options.
A non-viable option would be something with no server population (potential problem for planetside), a system so poorly constructed you can't play it effectively (earthrise), costs too much (that mech game with the launch panel comes to mind), or that has set time as functioning factor (wow gear grind in most respects, aoc alternate feats/gear).
My point is don't say there isn't a game (literally available that meets our needs), if there is, just that u don't want to play it. Blops was viable, I just didn't want to play it.

if people dont want to play it, it does not meet our needs. The main need of any game is the desire to play that game. It doesnt matter what a game offers if we as a group do not want to play that game. None of the games listed above are viable options because there is no group desire to play them.
What i am looking for is a something everyone wants to play. The games features are generally what attract people to a game, but those features dont mean shit if we as a group do not enjoy them.

That's retarded. That's like complaining about there being nothing to eat when there's a turkey sandwich in front of you, cause you're sick of turkey.
Either way we apparently have a thread of u and I bitching over semantics serving neither person's actual purpose. I suggest Randy try world of tanks since it's teeming with interest.

I'm thinking the opposite but not exactly for the same reason. I'm thinking Bulletstorm may be a game that could please us more that Homefront, mostly because Homefront seems to be exactly like BF2 or CoD (been there done that). Plus Wes did not want to play blops, so I'm sure he's not gonna be into Homefront.
I'll do some research and will post my findings.

Neither of those suffice as a reason to spend $60 IMO. If you're thinking fps, blackops or planetside make more sense to me.
If blackops has people Joe and I know whom are still playing, is cheaper now that it's not new, and is the same game within a relative framework, go with it.
If planetside has any semblance of a population left in the game, I would play it over any normal fps, personally. I love fps games, but we will be right back in this thread if the perception of any game is all there is to do is kill people. Supposedly that's why DCUO is out for Randy and Simon. 2 months and done for $60 is dumb if we can go $20 for 4 months given planetside has any meat left on the bone.
Joe, going off the last convo we had about it, u need to decide if you're going to evaluate planetside. If no, then it's not an option. If yes, we'll find out if it is an option.

I'm not interested if there's no one to shoot at...but that requires you scouting. I'm assuming Randy and Simon are low but like me are awaiting information.
Does angry birds have multiplayer?

i played DDO when it released for about 2 years. It has the best PVE i have ever seen, but the ui takes getting use to, and you now have to pay for the good quest. Also there is no PVP

Simon and I did DL DDO and I tried calling you Monday night so u could start. Our thinking was you like the genre, and co-op pve is better than nothing, it's free, and we can pay for content if we get hooked and decide it's worth it. Can't hurt.
On a sidenote: cat woman was released, along with the belated valentines day side quests. Cat woman appears to be kinda fun and different, but still doesn't hold a tee to robin and bane, or Harley if you're so inclined.

I had some toons already on the Thelanis and Ghallanda servers but I haven't made a new toon yet.
Since we're starting from scratch I don't mind the server we choose.
As for the class, I was thinking Cleric, as I like the tank and heal approach, although I could also see myself playing the rogue to disarm the traps and steal the loot.

My gut says barbarian, but I feel compelled to branch out...maybe ranger or sorcerer? It may come down to a RP decision...
Another sidenote: Hopkins offered me positions in both clinics I applied for, might be living in Baltimore next year!

Barbarian are amazing damage dealers that have low defense but the highest HP to counter that.
I think it's also quite easy to play, so starting with this might not be a bad idea. I'd roll Cleric to keep you guys on your feet and we'd have a decent group right there with Randy playing the Wizard.
Also, congrats on the job!

barbs are not bad starting characters, but i think you will enjoy the fighter class more. Branching out is not a bad idea but sorc and wizard classes are not something i would recommend to a new player.
Fighters have alot more customization than barbs due to the amount of feats they recieve, lower HP more generally more armor and better weapon options.
mages start off with robes and the lowest hp in the game so prepared to be 1 shot by everything.
rangers are strong if played right but are almost always played wrong.
My favorite/strongest character is a fighter, followed up my a rouge/wizard character.
Keep in mind you can multiclass in ddo, also keep in mind 98% of all dual/multiclass characters are gimped my level 5.
