DayZ anyone?

anyone heard or know anything about DayZ. It is a free mod for the arma II game.
Hear is what i know

Open world survival horror
Multiplayer persistant world
Hardcore players can die from stravation dehydration sickness exposure etc...
Zombie based

You need both Arma II and it's expansion Operation Arrowhead. There is a bundle called Combined Operations which includes both.

It seem's pretty complex, like the Chernarus-Life mod is. I hear you have to run a lot and hide from zombies, until you find some good weapons or beat a fellow player to get his.


I'd probably wait for the Steam Summer Sale and see if I can get a deal on it.

do youhave any intrest in tring it if it goes on sale?

Steam Summer Sale started today it seems, and all the ArmaII products are at -20%. I'll grab the game since I came close to buying it last month to try DayZ.

Btw, it is possible the game will drop even more than -20% during the course of the summer sale with the daily deals and flash deals, but it's hard to tell when.

I played it twice and neither experince was positive.

I gotta say, playing alone is kind of boring. Last game I played, I scavenged a few houses and found a axe and some food. Managed to kill zombies pretty easy from there on, then got shot from who knows where by a semi-auto riffle... Not a really fun ending to my adventure...


I played a game with a friend a few days ago and it was fun honestly. The simple fact that I was not alone and that we could elaborate some plan to get even more goods was fun. I think the fact that we found some AKs and M4s helped too...


I'd like to try this game out with you for real this week, I realized that when you spawn, they tell you which town you're in on the screen (white letters appearing typewriter style), which should help us in finding each other.
