There are two in florida, central Florida is best for me, and i can provide a place to sleep for anyone coming. But if we all want to go somewhere else that works to.

Pro tips: register for early day 1, and wear sunscreen and cleats.

1 mile every 24 minutes. 1 hour and 14 minutes total, did you take a nap?

Also are we going to wear kilts? also i heard they shave 24 minutes off your time.

I'm surprised it was that short on paper. The first half mile/first two obstacles there's a major back up of people. It probably took us 5-10 minutes to get across the starting line alone, and that's with heats. Waiting on people the first two obstacles is annoying, but it clears up after those. I think Liz and clocked ourselves after starting at 56 minutes. Our friend in the air force and actually in good shape did it in around 48, but that was our clock again.

The heat in July was killer, literally: a guy died and they cancelled 2/3 of sunday's heats. That was rough, but the real slow-you-down is the mud. That's why I said wear cleats and register for the morning. There were times you had to walk unless you wanted to faceplant, and I noticed the guy running in front of us had cleats. Florida won't have the hills thank god, but probably more water on the course, so more mud. I'd still wear em. Go morning because even at 1:00 on the first day, the course was so beaten up the entire 2nd and 3rd miles were mud from trampling by previous runners.

I also greatly underestimated running on hills and grass over concrete. Again, there might not be the hills, but it's a different toll on your ankles. I'd have trained way harder and on grass hills, and should have guessed that.

Call it excuses if you want, but I'll do a side wager for who finishes first between you and I if you like?

The kilts are pretty cool, but they were sold out before the one in KC.

Sidenote: challenge extended, but it is more fun running in groups for this race. Kilts in numbers go over better than solo I guess.

Fixed that for you. Incase you didnt realize my above post was ment to provoke you into this race.

So you are coming down for this wes? I just want to see it in writing. I know we planned on it, but wasnt sure if you would make it with the new job/gf. Right now there are 3 other guys that should be there and 2 other possiables. I am thinking we should stay in lake wales that night. The question is do we rent a hotel room, or camp out there on the camp grounds? The hotel room sounds nice, but we have to drive there after parting all day.

Also Simon are we going to see you for this one? My wife is staying at home.
