It doesn't show real combats... Again, they are showing off a "cinematic" perspective of a dumb PvE fight. I could do the same with AoC or WoW and it would look exactly the same. I don't think we should base our "hopes" on this.

The point where the female sent the beast flying 50ft was kinda nice though! If they let you do that kind of stuff in PvP, there's gonna be some crazy fights.

Scroll down, the three videos in a row are a much better view of combat in SWTOR. It's not AoC (I'm not expecting it to be) but much more natural than the first video posted.

Also, date announced: spring 2011.

nothing in any of those videos looked appealing to me. They still have a year to polish though, and will most likely push it back atleast a year(I cant remember the last MMO that actually released on time). A lot could happen in 2 years.

I hope its not just "attack-lightsaber" button as opposed to "attack high" "attack low" "attack mid" "attack L/R"

Nice AoE KB on the sith character.

I wouldn't expect that at all. I imagine combat similar to WAR with better quests/missions/story. Again, if you guys are expecting AoC you're going to be dissapointed. If you enjoyed KOTOR I think you'll find it a nice revamp with PvP incorporated.

I haven't played any of those, so I guess it will be a new experience.

WAR was exactly like krig described. hell they are using the hero engine designed by simutronics.

It will most likely follow the same combat as every other MMO. One basic attack button and a row of clickable hotkeys. Unfortunately, its a proven system that people like.

I don't remember clicking high or low attacks in WAR. I remember clicking an attack button with hot keys for abilities. Weird.

that is exactly what krig said he did not want and what you told him it would not be like. Maybe i misunderstood the meaing behind your post. I took your post to mean WAR had a good combat system with shitty quest/story line etc.

I read it as:
-krig would prefer directional attacks over just an attack button
-I responded with don't expect directional attacks, but more like war (attack + hot keys)
-you said war was directional attacks but meant it was not

We're both thinking the same thing but one of us misread krig's opinion. Don't think it's me but could be.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be you're traditionnal Auto-Attack + Hotkeys for special abilities. While this system is sure less "active" than the one we have in AoC, it has proven it's efficiency. It's a simple system, but it does the job; and if done well, it can still provide that "easy to learn, difficult to master" ideal.

I'm not hoping for a revolution on this part, as I'm pretty sure they're focusing on story and group leveling ( make the whole experience fun and fresh ).

Neither of us misread krigs opinion. I misread your response to his opinion, and you misread my response to what i though was you giving krig incorrect information.

When i replied and said war was exactly like krig discribed i was refering to the "I hope its not just "attack-lightsaber" button" part of his post.

Anyways moving on
We all agree it will not be the combat system krig would like to see. It will most likely be the standard (WoW style) single attack button with clickable abilities.

Alright, I will probably level up with you guys, pvp a little, get bored, and then play AoC until 40K comes out.

Unless its a MMORPG/FPS hybrid. Might get into that.
