New mounts

So the new mounts look like they are part of the faction system. I will be getting the wolf mount for Giddeon the perks are great for someone that doesnt mind being out in the open. I will be after the tiger mount for Glim its perks seem more geared towards rouge style characters.

So what mount is everyone chasing? It makes sense to do as much of this as possiable together as a group to speed up the process however If i am understanding it correctly that means we all need to join the same faction.

Depending on if you still lose stamina when in hiding with the tiger, I might pick that, for a few of my characters.

Wolves seem really nice for any gankers/open world PVP though.

I think you are going to need a mix for pvp. Wolves to pull people out of hiding and tigers to chase them down. Hopefully this is a prelude to a much better mounted combat system

I'm going tiger for nael and given the amount of grieving that will be occurring it might be best to first explore with stealth users.

The faction quests for the mounts (tiger we think at this point) are pretty hard. I still think you need a swift mount to complete one, as I only achieved 6/8 objectives in the time allotted for one. Pretty sure you need to group with a healer for one of the quests too. As expected, the zone is highly populated, but there's really not rampant pvp yet. When you do find pvp however, it's at pivotal quest chains, such as the mount factions. Finishing these in a group seems to be best (as always).

To preface this, Joe and I still couldn't tell if the faction we joined was leading to the tiger mount. They talk about wild horses and make no reference to tigers, but the quest chain is contra opposite to the wolf mount. Hykorians is the faction. I know some of you have done some reading on the factions. If we're headed down the wrong way speak up, an post any links you think are worth while.

Also I several people seem to be having problems with crashes. So far i have only crashed once. I did however delete my AoC installation yesterday and download a completely new install that included the Xpac. This takes considerable more time than just patching. But if you are having alot of problems crashing it may help. I would recommend starting the downlaod before you head to work or bed.

Yeah, that's some shit. The opposite faction of the (what looked like) wolf riders is where we banged our head through the wall all night. Either way I think you have to get in with one of those two for the conan line of quests.

Seems like you can also have a horse from those Hyrkanians. Maybe this is the key to doing your quests within the time limit (without paying for a swift horse).

Well I think you have to join them fully to get the mount, and you have to do the quest(s) to do so. That and I want the tiger mount so I don't want to waste my time on it if you can only get 1 new mount (which I'm assuming and am not sure on).

I got a feeling you can get the horse and 1 of the other special mount ( wolf or tiger that you need to take care of ).

But then again, we don't know so I guess we should focus on getting the special ones 1st, then try to get the horse if possible!

you can have both tiger and wolf.

Only one you can actually mount
the other will be able to aid you in combat


both has special benifits so pick wich one suits your toon the most.

Looks like "Wolves of the Steppes" give the wolf mounts. did this link not work earlier? this is where I am getting the info?

Im getting the tiger mount, this way i can sprint the fastest and be mounted while steath

Using the wolf as a pet, can pop out people that are steath.

I'm planing on getting the wolf mount myself, i was about to start the wolf factions mishs when i joined the raids last night. I'll keep all posted on what i find out.

Just a heads up: mitroz and I spent from 9:30 to midnight doing faction quests for the tiger mount and got roughly 1k points out of 5k for the first level inside the faction. You have to be level 4 to get a tiger pet. This is nothing short of grinding an 80.

Tamrin's tigers are in coshain province, far east point in the grasslands. Talk to the first quest giver once inside and he'll give you the quest to choose between them or the scholar faction. They are bad ass canibals.

Wolf mount comes from wolves of the steppe. First grouping of quests when you enter grasslands you will get a quest to choose between them and the hyrkanians. They are north central on your map and have a green indicator node.
