Favorite DoW2 Race?

Which race do you enjoy playing the most?

Space Marine all the way.

Reading about DoW here got me really interested in the Warhammer mythos. I tend to compare RTS with Blizzard's offerings as they are what got me started.

It seems like orks will be similar to orcs from WC3, Eldar with the Protoss, Space marines with...the space marines, and the Tyranids with the Zerg.


I have to say, I find the ork/fungi idea rather intriguing.

I will probably prefer space marines first, Eldar/Dark Eldar second.

Assuming they will increase the races with expansion packs like the first DoW, I think I will enjoy the Necron as they seem analogous to the Undead in WC3.

Nothing seems immediately to jump out at me with the Tau, so I am going to have to experience them once I get through the original DoW series.

the warhammer world is amazing in both fanasty and 40k. there are a couple big fans here.
my view of the armies
space marines - badasses who graduated and then killed the dean of badass university. IG that means big weapons and lots of armor normaly

eldar - one of my favorites. elves on the war path. each unit is super specalized with a certain goal in game. glass cannons.

orcs - my favorite. green smelly and loud. dont worry if one orc cant kill it 400 can.

necrons - think the borg from star trek, order then just about everyone expect maybe the eldar(?). and most importantly guass weapons. guass = green lasers of doom

chaos = everything from crazy space marines to deamons. big scary and well chaotic

tau - weak in body made up for with technolofy. super strong range but a quadrapledgic kitten could beat them in close combat.

dark eldar - Emo elves with a SM fetish

tyranids - aliens with even more swarm then the orcs.

I may take you up on that one day, perhaps coinciding when/if Thrym comes down. I can bring some of my dad's home brewed ale too!

Given good notice, I can work something out with my job and my wife, but I gotta get at least a few months notice and plan for it.

lol, you realize we are less then a 2 hour drive? I head down there fairly often to visit my fiance's family. provided you dont have kids though you are your wife are welcome to make a weekend out of it and use our spare bedroom. I dont have a problem with kids, just dont have that much room. if you do have em there is a several hotels nearby. bewarned though i have dogs they are very nice but also very hyper.

thrym should be down in may for my wedding but i doubt it will be a long trip but we may head up to coca for one of the casino boats unless you know a good on down your way. Provided he decides to talk to us again i think he is pissed off about some content we did not want on the website.

Unless you know a faster route? I work every Friday/Sat/Sun. I generally assume people have weekends off, if this is not the case then it will be easier.

Right now I have a couple bottles of Wee-Heavy (porter like) and two Belgian whit beer. He's working on a light beer right now, I usually get 6 or 12 per batch. If you guys have a special request, I can get a kit for him to work on.

I do have two children, but I don't think it would be a good idea at all to bring them. Nothing against you, but my oldest is autistic, and likes to chew on things like small figurines, wood, and plastic.

Being angry about website content doesn't sound like Thrym to me, but you obviously know him better than I do.

I'll write the bylaws/rules as requested. I haven't really been discussing them much as you guys have more experience having playing with clans before. PM me again when you think you have them decided on.

I will also need to know what the current hierarchy of leadership is and other information on the group.

shit your right i was thinking of hollywood(?) just north of miami. there is a hol something FL just south of us. tampa is a good 2.5 hours from here and if your north from that its a long way. Sorry thought you were alot closer. Well you are still welcome anytime you want to make that trip but when i proposed the idea i was thinking you were much closer.

I've found I have a special fondness for amassing large marine squads then then dropping terminators behind the enemy with deep strike. I haven't explored all the races yet, but I am doing well on the campaign.

I've defeated the orks already, and will shortly be killing the Tau.

Man the Tau are a pain in the ass, their commander runs right to my base every time. It's like a zerg rush except with an ultralisk.

Only thrice cleansed with fire, can we be assured the taint is gone.
