Roll Call

Forums have been pretty quiet lately, which is expected since we are between games at the moment. But i just wanted to check in with everyone and see who was still checking up on the forums. I will be doing some forum/website matainence in the next week or so. So speak up your you may find out account deactivated. If you find your self deactivated and are still interested and just missed this post before i started cleaning things out, just re-register.

So check in and let us know what games if any you are currently playing or just a quick update on your life.

As of right now I am really not playing any mmo's. But right now I am looking forward to playing star trek online and star wars the old republic when they come out.

But I am playing a lot of Xbox live right now. Games I am currently playing are halo 3, Virtua fighter 5, halo wars and other games. So if you want to play some games on Xbox live hit me up on the forums here or on Xbox live.

I stopped checking Darkfall after you guys quit. I don't want another MMORPG I play solo, like with Dragonrealms now.

I beat DoW II yesterday. I haven't found any new campaigns yet, and I still look for DoW I campaigns every now and then.

I've been reading 40K information online, can't get enough of it right now.

Still working a lot. May is a 3 paycheck month, so I am going to be pulling extra shifts.

you need to torrent the 40k codex's and man instruction book i think it is up to 5th edition.

I have quite a few of the codex already. I think the miniatures part of it is going to be prohibitively expensive right now, plus I don't know anyone here who plays. There is a game shop nearby that runs 40K and Warhammer though.

A 7-8 dollar book will keep me busy for a while, and I don't have to keep buying more parts for it.

When I do start 40K, I think I'm going to start with Space Marines, because they seem pretty basic. Then branch out - I do pretty well with the dark Eldar and the Tau in DoW I. I haven't done tyranid at all yet though. The Sisters were pretty good in DoW, but their style seems very similar to Space Marines. Their forward base ability was very overpowered.

it is a very expensive hobby. But if you think you are going to start it i HIGHLY recommend you do it now while you can buy the space marine/orc boxset for 60$. It is an amazing way to start a space marine or orc army. The dreadnought alone in that box set normaly sells for 40$ by itself. you and easily sell the orc bits/parts on ebay for 20$. It really is one of the best deals you will ever see for getting started.

that is just the space marine side of it, and like i said you can sell the orc shit on ebay(or keep em so you can teach a friend)

And you now have a fully playable army. You are going to want to add to it of course, but that can be done much later after you have learned the game and assemblied/painted all of those figures.

Actually a squad of tac marines is $35 but yes i defenitly agree w/ the models available in that box you can pretty much buy the ones you want sell the rest and break even i would imagine

Is this a roll call or the 40k thread? Don't do it Krig, it's a ton of money, you have to paint everything or buy it for ridiculous prices, and the games last way too long.

Unfortunately it isn't something I can get into now. Kids are too small/will eat pieces.

Also, that seems pretty expensive for plastic pieces. Are you sure you aren't quoting prices for metal ones?

There is someone at work who is going to let me use gear for paintballing, so I am going to give that a shot.

I never was into Conan, probably will just wait for SW:Old Republic.

first there is nothing wrong with barbies. second barbies or videos it doesnt change the fact your still a geek/nerd/dork/getting pointed and laughed at by all the cooler kids, the difference is I are ok with it.
